This piece speaks to the illusion of abandonment and the quiet truth that God never truly leaves us, even in our darkest moments. At first glance, it appears as though the man is drowning beneath the weight of his pain, trapped inside his own sunken place while praying from the edge of survival. But the deeper meaning reveals something different — he is not dying, he is awakening.

The water represents emotional depth, depression, fear, and the parts of ourselves we try to escape. The reflection beneath him symbolizes a soul re-entering the body, reconnecting with purpose after feeling disconnected for so long. What seems like falling is actually transformation.

The glowing angel beside him represents divine presence, protection, and spiritual guidance. Even when we cannot physically see God, His energy surrounds us, waits for us, and calls us back to ourselves. This artwork is about pulling yourself together long enough to recognize that the light you’ve been searching for was beside you the entire time.

Sometimes healing looks like drowning before rebirth. Sometimes faith is learning how to breathe underwater until God reminds you who you are.
